Mahindra Xylo to be replaced by TUV300 Plus

Automobile giant, Mahindra is all set to launch its long-wheelbase version of their TUV300 SUV, named as TUV300 Plus. Previous rumors were that the new model was going to be revised version of TUV500, but that’s not the case.

It is expected that the all new TUV300 Plus is going to give tough competition to Maruti Ertiga which is a successful car in the market. Last year, a spy shot picture revealed that the upcoming SUV will be equipped with forward-facing third row seats. Hence it can carry more passengers as compared to the old one.

Talking about the style in terms of interior and exterior, TUV300 Plus will be almost like the standard TUV300 with bare minimum, but exciting upgrades in design. TUV300 Plus will be using a 1.99-litre mHawk diesel engine which is the lower version of 2.2-litre mHawk engine, commonly used in popular vehicles like Scorpio, Xylo and XUV500.

As the government of Delhi banned diesel engines with power above 2,000cc, even vehicles like XUV500 and Scorpio have started using the 1.99L mHawk engine in Delhi and NCR.

XUV500 is capable of generating 142hp using this engine thus people can expect 120hp in the TUV300 Plus for sure.

Mahindra Xylo which has been on the roads since 2009 will be replaced by the new TUV300 Plus this year. In 2012 and 2014, the company came up with some minor changes in model of Xylo, but the model didn’t cement its place in the SUV segment.

Mahindra is also planning to launch T10 variant of TUV300 along with KUV100 NXT this month. The interesting thing is that very soon Mahindra U321 MPV will also be launched in the market and it would directly compete with Innova Crysta.
