Most Americans have had little taste of this car or might never heard about the car as well. Alfa Romeo left the U.S. market around twenty years ago, and now it has returned with a boom. Since its recent return to the US market, the Giulia is its first mainstream product that is going to be offered by the company over here. The 4C, a loud two-seat sports car, went on sale in this market in 2014.
The finalists of the event included the new, Honda Accord and the Tesla Model 3. But Alfa Romeo made its mark. At the same time, Motor Trend magazine also named the Honda CR-V “SUV of the Year” and the Ford F-150 as the “Truck of the Year.”
To be eligible for Motor Trend magazine awards, a vehicle must be either a completely new model or must have substantially redesigned aspects for the 2018 model year. Many Car manufacturers lend examples of eligibility to the magazine’s staff which leads to the rigorous process of lengthy testing on various test tracks and real roads.
The car has four doors with a much more compliant ride. The Giulia is still very much known as a “driver’s car” after its launch. Everyone on the magazine staff loved the Giulia Quadrafoglio, with its fantastic 505-horsepower engine and $72,000 starting price. But they thought that the $38,000 base model was even more impressive than this one.
Motor Trend writers were much impressed by the Model 3’s performance, but others also raised a finger on the car’s $60,000 price tag. The Model 3 is touted as “accessible” which starts with $35,000. Among other factors that kept it in the competition were tight back seats and interior designs.
Meanwhile, the magazine also named the Ford F-150 as the Truck of the Year. For the 2018 model year, there were several changes made on the truck. The most effective one is a new 10-speed transmission. The magazine’s staff tested all the available versions of the trucks, which includes the base model and F-150 Raptor.
