The automobile giant Volkswagen has just launched the new Passat in the Indian market. The all-new Passat is available in two variants – Comfortline and Highline. Comfortline can be yours at INR 30 lakh, while you have to pay INR 33 lakh for Highline.
Both the new variants are designed based on MQB modular platform. Talking about the exterior of the car, its length is 4,767 mm while width is 1,832 mm with 1,456 mm height. The wheelbase of Passat is designed considering Indian roads and hence is 2,786 mm. The fuel tank has a capacity of 66-litres.
The new Passat looks very interesting from the front end, especially the three-slat chrome grille along with the top one that extends till the headlights.
To kill the darkness, Passat owners have twin-LEDs along with LED DRL strip, which is designed at the lower part of the headlamp cluster. The fog lamps are placed very carefully at the dual-tone bumper, which is again redesigned.
Talking about the wheels, Comfortline is equipped with 16-inch Aragon alloy wheels and for Highline variant 17-inch London alloy wheels are provided by the company.
Unlike exterior, the interior part of Passat too is very appealing. It has a central MID on the steering wheel with twin-pod instruments attached. The dashboard too is very unique in its class as it has an inbuilt centrally mounted clock on it. The fine work of unpolished wood makes the dashboard look classier.
The 8-inch touchscreen information system completes the car in the form of technology. It is equipped with 3-zone automatic climate control system, electric seats, electric ORVM facility, automatic headlamps, parking sensors, rain sensing wipers, reverse camera and many more features.
Passat has a very powerful 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. The gear box has six speeds and it is automatic in nature. It is capable of delivering 174 BHP @ 3,600-4,000 rpm, which superb in sedan class.
